The rider who claims the Hyundai N-Spired Award in 2022 will get their hands on a brand-new car

Aside from points to the Championship across the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship campaign, riders up and down the grid will be once again participating in the Hyundai N-Spired Award. All 24 riders on the grid will be competing for a Hyundai car throughout the 2022 season as a prize for claiming glory in the N-Spired Award to add to their success.

The award rewards the rider with the most overtakes in Race 1 and Race 2 throughout the season, with one point given out for each position gained in the two full-length races per WorldSBK round. The award was first given out in 2020 with Chaz Davies, then at Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, claiming the award with 73 points across the right rounds; finishing 26 points clear of Takumi Takahashi.

The 2021 battle was closer as Alvaro Bautista claimed the award when at Team HRC, five points clear of BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team’s Michael van der Mark and eight clear of Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing). Both editions of the award have given out a new Hyundai car as the prize and 2022 will be no exception.

The award winner this year will get their hands on a Hyundai i20 N featuring a six-speed manual transmission that can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 6.2 seconds. The turbocharged 1.6 T-GDi engine produces 204PS (approximately 201BHP) and whoever gains the most positions throughout 2022 will be able to drive this four-wheeled machine as their reward for all the entertainment they provide.
